Isiphiwo Village
About The Venue
Evermore Venue and Spa (formerly Isiphiwo Village) is a landmark property nestled at the foot of the mountains in Derdepoort, just 15 minutes from Pretoria and an hour from Johannesburg. Built over 23 years from a farmhouse into a full-scale luxury destination, it is home to two chapels (300 and 80 guests), four indoor event venues, expansive outdoor grounds, a 7-treatment-room spa, and 20 rooms of accommodation — including luxury suites, a groom's suite, and standard rooms.
We host weddings, corporate functions, and private events, and we are currently in an exciting rebranding phase. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a team that is reshaping how the venue presents itself and filling its calendar.
The Role
As Events Manager at Evermore, you own the full cycle — from first enquiry to final handshake after the event.
You will work incoming leads generated by marketing, pursue your own prospects through networking, cold calling, and industry presence, and convert those enquiries into confirmed bookings. Once an event is signed, you plan it, resource it, and run it. You are accountable for the experience from start to finish.
You will work alongside other managers and coordinate their teams where needed, while leading your own dedicated team of bar, wait, and events support staff.
If you thrive on ownership, enjoy the chase of a new booking as much as the delivery of a great event, and hold yourself to a high standard without being told to — this role was built for you.
Key Responsibilities
Follow up and convert incoming enquiries generated by marketing
Generate your own leads through cold calling, networking, expos, and industry events
Manage client relationships from first contact through to post-event follow-up

Coordinate with other department managers to resource events correctly
Lead, schedule, train, and manage your own team of bar, wait, and events support staff
Maintain strict stock control across bar, kitchen, and décor with accurate record keeping
Conduct daily and event-based cash-ups and financial reconciliations
Ensure the venue is properly opened, closed, and secured after every event
Uphold health, safety, and cleanliness standards throughout the property

A relevant qualification in hospitality, events management, or business (diploma or degree preferred)
A proven sales ability — you are comfortable cold calling, networking, and closing
Strong leadership with the ability to manage and motivate a team
Excellent client-facing communication and professional presentation
Well presented and visually professional at all times — you are the face of the venue to clients and guests
Physically fit and energetic — this is a large property and the role involves significant time on your feet across multiple venues and outdoor spaces
Solid understanding of stock control, cash handling, and financial reconciliation
Valid South African ID
Valid South African driver's licence and own reliable transport
Sober habits — this is a non-negotiable given the nature of the environment

What We Offer
A role with real autonomy at a prestigious, established venue
Commission on events you bring in and close
The chance to be part of a relaunch — your impact will be visible and meaningful
A stunning working environment with history, heart, and genuine character
