Our client, a luxury hotel group, is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Hotel Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of a prestigious property located in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia, CA . This role demands exceptional leadership, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering unparalleled guest experiences. You will be responsible for managing all operational departments, including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Security, ensuring seamless service delivery and operational efficiency. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the highest standards of quality, service, and guest satisfaction, while also managing budgets, staff development, and operational planning.
Key responsibilities include:
Directing and supervising the operations of all hotel departments to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to enhance guest satisfaction and operational excellence. Managing departmental budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing revenue generation opportunities. Recruiting, training, motivating, and evaluating a high-performing team of department managers and staff. Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and standards. Conducting regular inspections of hotel facilities and services to maintain quality standards. Handling guest complaints and concerns promptly and professionally, resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction. Collaborating with the General Manager and other senior leaders on strategic planning and business development initiatives. Managing relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Overseeing inventory management and cost control measures for all operational departments. Implementing and monitoring performance metrics to track operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. Staying informed about industry trends and best practices in hotel management. Leading by example to foster a positive and guest-centric work environment.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in hotel operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role, is required. Proven experience in managing multiple hotel departments and demonstrating a strong understanding of all hotel operational functions is essential. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are mandatory. A strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management, is critical. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is necessary.
