Job Description

Our client, a respected player in the aviation sector, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join their technical operations team based in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, CA. This role is crucial for ensuring the airworthiness and operational readiness of their fleet, demanding precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety.

As a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various aircraft types. You will diagnose complex technical issues, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and implement effective repair solutions according to strict aviation standards and regulatory requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of aircraft systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, avionics, and powerplants.

Key responsibilities include:
Conducting detailed inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of aircraft components and systems. Performing scheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with manufacturer manuals and company procedures. Diagnosing and rectifying complex technical faults and discrepancies. Interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Transport Canada regulations and company policies. Documenting all maintenance actions accurately and thoroughly in the aircraft logbooks and maintenance records. Mentoring and guiding junior maintenance technicians. Collaborating with flight operations and other departments to minimize aircraft downtime. Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and safety. Maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
The ideal candidate will hold a valid Transport Canada AME License (M1/M2) with extensive experience on relevant aircraft types. A minimum of 8 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience is required. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, coupled with a thorough understanding of aviation regulations and best practices, are essential. Excellent mechanical and technical aptitude, along with proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, is necessary. The ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation is critical. Strong communication and teamwork skills are important for coordinating with various stakeholders. This role requires a commitment to a safety-first culture and is based at our facility in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, CA.
