Job Description
Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, processing and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation, scopes, patient care equipment requiring sterilization, and supplies.
Performing monitoring of the effectiveness of all sterilization processes according to Policies and Procedures and by following the AAMI, AORN, CDC, and OSHA guidelines
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills in decontamination and processing of instruments, scopes, equipment, and supplies. (25%)
Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instruments and technical expertise in identification, care, and handling and inspection for proper working prior to sterilization. (25%)
Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills in operating sterilization equipment. (25%)
Demonstrates knowledge of Standard Precautions (15%)
Demonstrates positive team relationship and communication skills and contributes to create a cohesive and productive environment (10%)
Job Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
If hired or transferred into position after 12/28/20, must pass an accredited program through National Commission for Certifying Agency, which is administered by one of the following agencies and must maintain or obtain (within 6 months of hire):
Certified Endoscope Reprocessor -IAHCSMM
OR
Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor - CBSPD
Experience:
One year of experience preferred.
Other Skills:
Good communication, customer relationship skills a plus.
Knowledge of instrument tracking system and/or use of computer.
