GAI Consultants is excited to invite applications for the role of Construction Engineering Inspector. This position is based in our Jacksonville, FL office, with assignments in the Tallahassee, FL or Panama City, FL areas. Under the guidance of the Senior Project Engineer/Construction Manager, you will primarily oversee contractor operations to ensure strict compliance with plans and specifications. Your strong public relations and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
Conducting technical assignments in construction layout and field surveying, performing engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and executing field tests.
Collaborating with and receiving guidance from senior inspection staff.
Interpreting project plans and specifications.
Monitoring contractor performance to ensure alignment with contract documents.
Documenting construction activities via written reports and photographs.
Tracking quantities on site, including construction math computations.
Verifying compliance with permits.
Conducting materials verification through field sampling as required.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1
CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
CTQP Pile Driving Inspection (preferred)
CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for all drilled shafts including special structures like sign structures) (preferred)
IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
CTQP Final Estimates Level I
FDOT Intermediate MOT
Nuclear Radiation Safety
Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification for Inspectors and Contractors
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
Comfortable navigating rough terrain typical of construction sites.
Capable of walking on steep and varying terrains in diverse weather conditions.
Ability to drive.

Education: High School Diploma (required)
Experience: 2 years in construction inspection, with 1 year in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection (required).
