Senior Full-Stack Engineer – AI Gaming Tech Startup (Hybrid Montreal)

About The Role

LocusX is reimagining the game development pipeline by embedding intelligence at its core.

Our platform is the first AI-native platform for game bug fixing, connecting testers, developers,

and project leads in one intelligent workspace.

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you'll help architect, build, and scale the SaaS platform that

brings LocusX to game studios around the world. You'll have real input into the architectural

decisions that define how we harden it, scale it, and grow it across shared multi-tenant

deployments and dedicated private VPC environments. Most of your work will live on the

backend — high-throughput data ingestion, streaming pipelines, services, and APIs — where

you'll own meaningful surface area, as well as parts of the front-end experiences that studios

use every day to navigate insights and triage issues.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale backend services that ingest, process, and serve data at high throughput

across our SaaS platform

• Own and extend the streaming data pipelines that move telemetry, logs, media, and

code-history events through the platform in real time

• Operate and grow our cloud infrastructure on AWS with Terraform

• Optimize our data layer through query tuning, schema evolution, and selective adoption

of complementary stores as workloads grow

• Build and improve front-end experiences for studio users — dashboards, triage views,

and the workflows that make our intelligence actionable

• Build out observability across the platform so we can debug customer environments

quickly and reliably

• Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate models, agentic systems, and

embedding/retrieval services into production workflows

• Contribute to platform reliability, CI/CD, security, and the operational practices that keep

AAA studios shipping on our platform

Qualifications

• Have strong production backend experience — you’ve built and scaled services that

handle real load, not just prototypes

• Are comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform) and containerized

deployments (Kubernetes), including isolated and customer-dedicated environments

• Have hands-on experience with streaming data pipelines (Rising

Wave, Apache Flink,

Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, Google Cloud Dataflow, Azure Stream

Analytics, or equivalents)

• Have worked with modern observability stacks (Open

Telemetry, Datadog, Elasticsearch,

or equivalents) as a first-class part of the platform

• Have strong SQL skills and can reason about query plans and performance, not just

write queries

• Are comfortable with at least one modern front-end framework (React, Vue, Svelte,

Dioxus) and willing to own meaningful product surface area on the front end

• Operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment, and can scope and deliver

projects end-to-end

• Enjoy collaborating across backend, ML, and domain experts

Strong candidates may also have

• Experience with Rust in production, or strong systems-level experience in a comparable

language

• B2B SaaS background — payment processing, license management, multi-tenant

architecture

• Experience operating SaaS platforms with both shared and customer-dedicated

deployment tiers

• Gaming or developer-tools background; familiarity with Perforce, JIRA, Unreal, or Unity
