This position is tailored for software engineers who have successfully launched high-impact products in dynamic environments similar to those at Stripe, Airbnb, Cloudflare, Datadog, and Coinbase. We highly value candidates from reputable computer science programs, including but not limited to University of Washington, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, UT Austin, University of Michigan, and Purdue. However, exceptional experience and skills will always take precedence over educational background.

Project Overview:

As a Software Engineering evaluator at Turing, you will play a critical role in developing innovative datasets aimed at training, benchmarking, and advancing large language models. Your responsibilities will include curating code examples, providing accurate solutions, and correcting code across both backend and frontend frameworks, predominantly using Python and Java

Script (React, Node.js), along with additional work in C/C++, Java, Rust, and Go. You will critically evaluate and enhance AI-generated code, ensuring it meets our standards for efficiency, scalability, and reliability, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine enterprise-level AI-driven coding solutions.

Typical Day Overview:

• Engage in AI model training by curating innovative code examples and correcting both Python and Java

Script solutions while incorporating occasional work in other programming languages.

• Critique and enhance AI-generated code to align with industry benchmarks for performance and reliability.

• Work collaboratively across various teams to boost AI-driven coding solutions.

• Create verification agents capable of assessing code quality and identifying patterns of errors in full-stack applications.

• Evaluate model capabilities throughout the software engineering cycle including prototyping, architectural design, and operational maintenance.

• Design mechanisms that can automatically validate solutions to software engineering tasks.

Required Skills:

• At least 3 years of software engineering experience.

• Proficient in developing full-stack applications using Python and Java

Script, with substantial experience in both backend and frontend codebases.

• Experience with scalable, production-grade software utilizing modern languages and tools.

• Strong grasp of software architecture, design, development, debugging, and code quality assessment.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for delivering structured evaluation rationales.

Engagement Details:

• Flexible commitment minimum of 10 hours/week and up to 40 hours/week.

• Type of engagement: Contractor (no medical/paid leave).

• Duration is 1 month with potential extensions based on performance.

• Candidates must be based in the United States.

Evaluation Process:

• The application process will take approximately 15-30 minutes.

• Completion of an AI video interview is a requirement.
