Principal AI Research Scientist

Our client, a pioneering force in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies, is actively seeking a distinguished Principal AI Research Scientist to lead groundbreaking research initiatives from their state-of-the-art facility in Atlanta, Georgia, US. This senior role demands a visionary individual with a deep theoretical and practical understanding of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or reinforcement learning. You will be instrumental in shaping the future direction of our client's AI strategy, identifying novel research avenues, and translating cutting-edge discoveries into tangible products and services. The successful candidate will mentor a team of talented researchers and engineers, foster a collaborative research environment, and publish findings in top-tier scientific journals and conferences. Responsibilities will include designing and implementing complex AI algorithms, developing novel models, and leading end-to-end research projects from conception to deployment. This role requires a blend of exceptional scientific rigor, innovative thinking, and strong leadership capabilities. You will engage with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering, to ensure the practical applicability and scalability of your research.

Key Responsibilities:
Conceptualize, design, and execute advanced research projects in AI and machine learning. Develop and implement state-of-the-art AI models and algorithms to solve complex problems. Lead a team of AI researchers and engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML, publishing research findings in leading journals and conferences. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate research outcomes into production systems. Contribute to the strategic direction of AI research within the organization. Develop novel approaches to data analysis, model training, and performance optimization. Evaluate and benchmark new AI technologies and methodologies. Present research findings and technical proposals to stakeholders at various levels. Foster a culture of innovation and scientific excellence.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field. 10+ years of hands-on experience in AI research and development, with a focus on one or more subfields such as deep learning, NLP, computer vision, or reinforcement learning. Demonstrated track record of impactful research, evidenced by publications in top-tier venues and/or significant contributions to deployed AI systems.
