Position Overview

GEICO is on the lookout for a talented Senior Machine Learning Engineer to become a pivotal part of our AI organization. In this role, you will be a technical leader and architect for our virtual assistant platform, enhancing productivity for over 30,000 internal associates while improving the customer experience for millions of policyholders.

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer focused on the AI Agent Platform, you will:

• Define the Technical Vision: Develop the long-term technical strategy for GEICO's AI agent platform, including multi-agent orchestration and skill management.

• Build AI Agent Skills: Create a robust enterprise skill ecosystem with reusable modules, establishing an internal marketplace complete with security vetting and analytics.

• Leadership in Design: Oversee the design of reliable AI agent systems that can manage long-running workflows, employing both computational and inferential controls.

• Platform Management: Own high-performance platform components that facilitate seamless agent workflows, including workflow orchestration and observability.

• Ensure AI Safety: Establish frameworks for governance and security in AI agents, prioritizing safe operations and robust auditing processes.

• Mentorship: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentoring engineers and sharing best practices to elevate AI engineering across the company.

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional software development experience in at least two languages (Java, C++, Python, Go, or C#).

• 6+ years of experience in designing AI/ML platforms using open-source/cloud-agnostic technologies.

• 5+ years managing the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC) including CI/CD processes and Kubernetes.

• 4+ years of experience building LLM training and inferencing systems, particularly on GPU infrastructure.

• 3+ years working with multi-agent AI systems in a production environment.

• Solid understanding of context engineering techniques relevant to LLMs.

• Proven track record in leading technical initiatives and mentoring across teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud providers (Azure, AWS), including container orchestration and GPU computing.

• Hands-on experience building workflows with open-source and proprietary LLMs.

• Familiarity with managed communication protocols and task delegation methodologies.

• Experience designing AI agent skill systems with focus on security and governance.

• Understanding of AI safety and regulatory compliance in regulated industries.

Annual Salary: $130,000.00 - $300,000.00. Please note, the salary range is indicative and may vary based on factors such as your experience, education, skills, and the specific responsibilities of the role.
