The VIP - Violence Intervention Project
This is a brand-new role to shape and own a community fundraising programme from the ground up. Help develop the resources we need, then take them out into the community to build long-term relationships and bring in unrestricted income, money that goes straight to our frontline service.
What difference will you make?
The Violence Intervention Project (VIP) is a West London youth charity founded in 2017. We deliver long-term, relationship-based support to young people caught in, or on the edge of, serious youth violence. Headquartered at 4 Hammersmith Broadway, we work across Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Hounslow and Ealing.
Since 2017 we've supported over 200 high-risk young people. In 2024 alone we delivered more than 1,500 hours of one-to-one therapeutic outreach.
Our model — Urban Therapy — is built on the AMBIT framework from the Anna Freud Centre, and our latest outcomes data shows 40% of young people we work with see a reduction in violence within 12 months, rising to 80% over a full multi-year engagement.A lot of our work is entirely dependant on grants and foundations and now we really want to find other ways to help us grow!
What are we looking for?
You don't need a fundraising qualification to do this brilliantly — you do need a generous, organised approach to people, and the confidence to start conversations.
Experience or strong interest in community fundraising, local partnerships, sales, marketing or outreach.
Confidence to make cold approaches by phone and in person — with a warm, genuine manner that builds trust.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.A self-starter mentality — this is a largely autonomous role; you'll be managing your own pipeline.
Knowledge of West London, or appetite to get to know it quickly.
Belief in VIP's mission and the ability to talk credibly about the context our young people are growing up in.
Comfortable with everyday tools — email, spreadsheets, Canva or similar; existing CRM experience welcome but not essential.
Capacity for 5 hours a week, with occasional flexibility for evening or weekend events.

Phase 2 — Outreach and relationship-building (ongoing)Identify 30–50 priority targets across West London — schools in our four boroughs, local independent businesses, and faith communities (churches, mosques, temples, synagogues, gurdwaras).
Lead initial outreach by phone, email and in person — pitching VIP, sharing the toolkit, and inviting partners to fundraise or donate.
Steward new and existing supporters thank-yous, impact updates, return visits, small events.
Represent VIP at community events, school assemblies and supporter gatherings.
Track activity and report progress to the CEO each month.
