About the Role
The Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of large-scale data centre construction projects across Europe. The role is responsible for managing all aspects of project execution, including programme delivery, commercial performance, health and safety, quality assurance, client management, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
The successful candidate will have proven experience delivering complex data centre, infrastructure, civil engineering, reinforced concrete, or mission-critical construction projects within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, milestones, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Support contract administration and procurement activities.
- Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, variations, and change control processes.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with commercial teams to maximise project profitability.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, company procedures, and client requirements.
- Lead safety reviews, audits, and incident investigations.
- Drive continuous improvement in HSEQ performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with project partners.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior management.
- Lead and motivate site management teams, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project objectives.
- Mentor and develop project team members.
- Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
- Manage inspection and test plans (ITPs).
- Oversee commissioning, snagging, and final handover processes.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–10 years' project management experience within construction or infrastructure.
- Proven experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, RC frame, civils, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project planning, cost control, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel and work across Europe.
Required Skills
- Data centre or hyperscale project experience.PRINCE2, APM, PMP, or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, or similar contract forms.SMSTS, CSCS, IOSH, or NEBOSH qualifications.
- Multilingual capabilities (German, Dutch, French, or other European languages).
