Catastrophe Modelling Analyst

I am partnering with a leading International Insurance Company to hire a Catastrophe Modelling Analyst to join their Paris-based Property Treaty team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly technical, model-driven underwriting environment, supporting global catastrophe reinsurance portfolios across more than 25 territories.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in supporting underwriting decisions through catastrophe modelling and exposure analytics, while contributing to pricing, portfolio management and internal reporting.

Working closely with underwriters and exposure teams across Paris and London, you’ll gain strong visibility across the business and exposure to complex international risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform catastrophe modelling for pricing Property Treaty reinsurance business
• Analyse and validate outputs from vendor models (RMS, AIR), including OEP, AEP and AALSupport underwriters by translating modelling outputs into pricing insights
• Manage and aggregate exposure data to assess portfolio risk
• Produce RDS (Realistic Disaster Scenario) and PML reporting
• Work with portfolio management tools (e.g. Tiger
• Eye) to monitor exposures
• Contribute to quarterly roll-ups and global exposure reporting processes
• Deliver MI and technical reporting across underwriting, claims, exposure and finance
• Partner with London-based exposure teams on portfolio management
• Your Background
• Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Physics, Data Science or similar
• Experience in reinsurance, insurance or catastrophe modelling (preferred)
• Strong analytical and data handling skills
• Advanced Excel (essential); experience with SQL, VBA or programming languages is a plus
• Familiarity with catastrophe modelling tools such as RMS or AIRStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts
• Fluent in French and English
