Labor Relations Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Labor Relations Specialist to sit within the local market team, based in our Madrid office. You will be working closely with both internal departments and external suppliers at a local and EU level to support the business.

This is an opportunity for someone with solid expertise in employee relations and Spanish labor law to play a key role within UNIQLO Spain's growing HR function. You will oversee ER casework, Works Council relations, and collective negotiations, while advising managers and leadership on complex employee matters to ensure full legal compliance.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder retail environment. Strong communication, negotiation, and investigative skills are essential, along with a high level of discretion and professionalism.

What you will be responsible for:

• Employee Relations & Case Management
• Manage disciplinary actions, misconduct investigations, and dismissal processes, ensuring legal compliance and accurate documentation.
• Support investigations into harassment, discrimination, and employee complaints in coordination with the HRBP and Legal.
• Works Council & Employee Representation
• Act as a key contact for Works Councils, employee representatives, and trade unions.
• Coordinate and participate in consultations, meetings, and collective negotiations.
• Labor Law, Governance & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, collective agreements, and internal HR policies.
• Support labor inspections, conciliations, and external legal processes.
• Track ER cases and trends and contribute to policy and process improvements.
• Advisory & Preventive Role
• Deliver ER and labor-law training to store management teams.
• Monitor legislative changes and support compliance action plans.
• Support employee wellbeing, inclusion, and equality initiatives.
• Skills, Experience and Attributes: Degree in Law with 3–5 years of experience in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, or an HR role with strong ER exposure.
• HR experience gained within retail or hospitality Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is a mandatory requirement due to daily business needs Practical experience working with Works Councils (RLPT), employee representatives, or trade unions, including consultation and negotiation processes.
• Proven track record managing disciplinary procedures, grievances, and employee investigations.
• Experience supporting labor inspections, conciliations, or administrative labor processes.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish labor law, collective agreements, and governance frameworks.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to manage sensitive situations confidently.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
