Job Description
Corporate Communications and Marketing (CCM) is responsible for strengthening Statkraft’s overall position in Norway and internationally, both internally and externally.
The Leadership and Internal Communication function holds global responsibility for leadership communication, internal communication, and executive positioning, including communication support to the CEO and Corporate Management, and coordination of communication services across Business Areas.
We are seeking a highly experienced and senior communications professional to take full ownership of internal communication for Business Area Markets, as well as coordinate external communication, marketing, and content production across functions.
Business Area Markets is globally responsible for all market operations in Statkraft, including energy management, asset exposure management, proprietary trading, and origination. The business operates in a highly complex, fast-paced, and commercially driven environment with significant financial exposure and a demanding stakeholder landscape.
This role carries end-to-end responsibility for communication deliveries and requires the ability to operate effectively at executive level, manage high complexity, and navigate a broad and senior stakeholder landscape across geographies, functions, and disciplines.
Key responsibilities
- In this role, you will:
- Hold overall accountability for the planning, prioritization and delivery of all communication activities supporting Business Area Markets
- Act as the primary and trusted communication advisor to the EVP Markets and the Markets management team
- Lead, coordinate and quality assure communication deliveries across internal communication, external communication, marketing, and content production
- Operate as an integrated member of the Markets leadership context to ensure strong business understanding, alignment and impact
- Develop and execute internal communication and change communication strategies directly linked to business priorities and transformation initiatives
- Drive executive communication and positioning, including messaging, speeches, presentations and leadership communication platforms
- Ensure consistent, high-quality communication output across channels (e.g. Engage, town halls, leadership forums, presentations, media interactions, digital content)
- Manage competing priorities, tight deadlines and high expectations in a complex and high-performance environment
- Work in close collaboration with the broader CCM function and contribute to the continuous development of the communication discipline across Statkraft
- You will report to the Vice President Leadership and internal communication in Oslo.
Qualifications
- Degree in business, communication, or related field.
- Relevant experience may compensate for a lack of relevant education
- Minimum 8 –10 years’ experience, and a good understanding of the energy and/or financial markets and instruments
- Required experience and capabilities
- The candidate must have documented and relevant experience in the following areas:
- The energy/renewable energy sector and/or financial markets
- Documented experience advising senior executives (EVP level or equivalent), including acting as a trusted advisor in high-stakes situations
- Proven track record of operating in complex stakeholder landscapes with multiple senior stakeholders across functions and geographies
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional communication deliveries, including leading a small cross-functional delivery team of communication professionals, with clear accountability for quality and outcomes
- Solid experience in developing and implementing internal and changing communication strategies in large, complex organizations
- Strong business understanding and ability to translate business priorities into clear, effective and targeted communication
- Documented experience from environments characterized by high pace, complexity, and performance expectations
- Proven ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and delivery at a consistently high level
- Experience leading projects and/or teams, including coordinating senior professionals across disciplines
- High level of structure, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple parallel processes and stakeholders simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English
