Role Summary
The Chief Supply Chain Officer is a C-suite executive responsible for the end-to-end strategy, design, execution, and continuous improvement of the company’s global supply chain. This role drives resilience, efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability across procurement, logistics, demand planning, manufacturing coordination, inventory management, and distribution.
The CSCO ensures alignment between supply chain capabilities and business objectives, mitigates risks, and builds a competitive, agile, and data-driven supply chain organization.
Key Responsibilities

- Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute a long-term supply chain strategy that supports revenue growth, margin targets, and customer service levels.
- Lead integrated business planning (IBP), including demand forecasting, S&OP, and capacity planning.
- Design network optimization strategies for warehouses, distribution centers, and transportation lanes.

- Procurement & Supplier Management
- Oversee global sourcing, strategic procurement, and supplier relationship management to ensure cost, quality, and continuity of supply.
- Drive supplier diversity, ESG compliance, and risk management (single-source mitigation, geopolitical risks, financial stability).
- Negotiate major contracts and establish long-term partnerships.

- Logistics & Distribution
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including freight (air, ocean, ground), last-mile delivery, and reverse logistics.
- Optimize transportation costs, carrier selection, and route planning.
- Implement visibility tools for real‑time shipment tracking and exception management.

- Inventory & Operations
- Set inventory targets (safety stock, cycle stock) to balance working capital with service levels.
- Lead inventory optimization, obsolescence reduction, and SKU rationalization.
- Collaborate with manufacturing or contract manufacturing partners to align production schedules with demand.

- Technology & Data Analytics
- Drive digital transformation of supply chain systems (ERP, TMS, WMS, demand planning software, control towers).
- Use predictive analytics and AI/ML for demand sensing, supply risk prediction, and dynamic replenishment.
- Establish KPIs (OTIF, DIO, freight cost as % of sales, cash-to-cash cycle, etc.) and executive dashboards.

- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (natural disasters, strikes, cyber threats, regulatory changes).
- Develop business continuity plans and alternate sourcing strategies.
- Lead carbon footprint reduction, circular economy initiatives, and compliance with trade regulations (customs, sanctions, forced labor laws).

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global supply chain team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) and cross-functional collaboration with sales, finance, R&D, and operations.
- Manage budgets, ROI analyses for capital projects (automation, fleet, warehouse expansion).
- Qualifications & Experience
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.MBA or master’s degree in Supply Chain / Operations strongly preferred.
- Professional certifications (CSCP, CPSM, SCOR-P, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) a plus.
- Experience15+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role (VP or above).
- Proven track record in global, multi-modal supply chains (manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, or industrial sectors).
- Experience in digital transformation (ERP implementations, control towers, automation).
- Demonstrated success in crisis management (e.g., COVID-19 disruptions, trade wars, logistics capacity crunches).
