An Ultra-High-Net-Worth Family Office is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to join its lean, collaborative accounting team. This newly created role is due to the firm's continued growth.
The family office manages generational wealth across a broad range of assets, including real estate holdings, investment accounts, corporate entities, operating businesses, and personal assets. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and is comfortable working in a confidential, fast-moving UHNW environment.
The role can be based in Greenwich, CT or Midtown, NYC and requires only one day in the office per week. The team is warm, personable, collaborative, and highly professional.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable, bill pay, invoices, and approved purchase requests across family office entities
- Review invoices for proper coding, documentation, approvals, and payment timing
- Maintain accurate books and records, including general ledger entries and journal entries
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, investment, and operating account reconciliations
- Support intercompany reconciliations and multi-entity accounting activity
- Record investment-related accounting entries, including equity transactions
- Assist with bookkeeping and accounting for real estate holdings
- Support accounting for corporate entities, operating businesses, trust structures, and personal assets
- Maintain organized digital financial records and supporting documentation
- Track vendor relationships, payment histories, contracts, and 1099 information
- Collaborate with internal team members and outside advisors on accounting and reporting matters
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects, process improvements, and general operational support
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant bookkeeping, accounting, or family office support experience
- Prior experience working with HNW / UHNW individuals, a family office, real estate firm, CPA firm, or investment-related environment strongly preferred
- Solid background in accounts payable, bill pay, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Exposure to real estate bookkeeping, investment accounting, equity transactions, or multi-entity structures is a strong plus
- Comfortable working in QuickBooks or comparable accounting systems, along with strong Excel skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Resourceful, proactive, and hands-on, with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed
- Strong judgment, discretion, professionalism, and integrity when handling confidential family office matters
Salary: $80k – $115k base, plus bonus and fully paid benefits.
