Role Overview
The General Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely management of financial records, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. This role supports the finance team in daily accounting tasks, month-end close, and financial reporting, contributing to sound financial decision-making and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger and perform accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including timely vendor payments and customer invoicing.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of cash balances.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls; support internal and external audits.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
- Improve accounting processes and internal controls; contribute to system enhancements and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, operations, sales) to resolve financial issues and improve data integrity.
- Support tax compliance activities and regulatory reporting as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified CPA/CA/ACCA is preferred. 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience; experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks) and financial reporting tools.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities; able to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.
