Financial & Operational AccountantEdward Mann is looking for a Financial & Operational Accountant on behalf of a rapidly growing, dynamic business based in Sydney’s West (Burwood).
The role offers a competitive package of up to $100,000 + Super and is perfect for an autonomous, hands-on accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Position PurposeReporting directly to senior leadership you will play a central role in maintaining financial integrity while steering daily business operations.
This position is designed for a versatile professional who can seamlessly manage end-to-end month-end financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance, while proactively jumping into business systems, tracking cash flow, and resolving day-to-day operational bottlenecks.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Controlling & Reporting
- Month-End & Management Accounts: Own the month-end close process, including journal preparation, postings, and comprehensive monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Corporate Reporting: Deliver robust monthly management reporting and board reporting packs, tracking core P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow metrics.FP&A: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and detailed variance analysis to guide commercial decision-making.
- Treasury & Banking: Drive daily bank reconciliations, monitor daily cash positions, and manage corporate banking facilities and relationships.
- Tax & Compliance: Prepare and lodge statutory compliance requirements including BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, FBT management, and ABS Surveys.
- Asset & Ledger Oversight: Maintain the Fixed Asset register, manage bad debt reviews/provisioning, and provide strategic oversight across Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Operational Support & Systems
- ERP & System Optimization: Act as the internal go-to for Business Central (BC), troubleshooting user issues and proactively resolving posting errors relating to journals, sales orders, and ledgers.
- Commercial Analysis: Execute weekly reviews of customer lists, open purchase orders (POs), and investigate pricing variances.
- Credit & Payment Portals: Manage customer credit applications and oversee/resolve transaction issues across digital payment gateways (Stripe and Pay
- Way).
- Team Collaboration & Administration: Conduct weekly reviews of cash customer accounts, support team members with invoice entry and payment allocations when required, and oversee office supply ordering for storefront locations.
- Process Governance: Establish, document, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and financial policies.

- Experience: 3–5 years handling both corporate financial control and day-to-day transactions.
- Systems: Strong mid-tier ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a major advantage).
