The Role

As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead large scale Point of Sale transformation initiatives across diverse retail store formats. This role will be central to driving end to end delivery, testing, and release readiness for POS solutions, ensuring reliable, secure, and high quality in‑store transactions aligned to enterprise retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own and lead end‑to‑end testing services for Emerald POS across Supermarket, Convenience, and PFS store formats.
• Define and manage the programme roadmap, delivery strategy, milestones, and release timelines for Emerald POS.Drive test strategy, test planning, and execution across functional, integration, regression, UAT, and non‑functional testing.
• Ensure effective execution of:
• Data migration validation for Emerald POSSystem integration testing with downstream and upstream retail systems
• End‑to‑end Emerald POS transaction workflows
• Provide technical and architecture oversight related to Emerald POS testing, integrations, and deployment readiness.
• Influence adoption of automation testing, performance testing, and modern quality engineering practices within the Emerald POS programme.
• Act as the primary interface between the Emerald POS vendor, system integrators, internal IT teams, and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with store operations, store managers, supply chain teams, and application/platform teams.
• Proactively identify programme risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans related to Emerald POS delivery.
• Establish and enforce quality standards, testing governance, and best practices for POS change.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and enterprise governance frameworks.
• Define and track KPIs, programme health indicators, and quality metrics.
• Provide executive‑level reporting to senior leadership and governance forums.
• Drive continuous improvement across testing processes, tooling, automation coverage, and delivery metrics.
• Support change management and user adoption activities in partnership with business and store teams.
• Your Profile Essential skills/knowledge/experience: Strong hands‑on knowledge of NCR POS applications.
• Proven experience in POS implementations and transformations.
• Deep understanding of the software testing lifecycle, including:
• Test strategy
• Test planning
• Functional testing
• Integration testing
• Regression testing
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Solid understanding of automation testing concepts and frameworks.
• Solid understanding of performance testing concepts and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Retail Store Operations, including:POS transaction flows
• Inventory management
• Order fulfilment
• Warehouse and supply chain operations
• Experience with systems integration, including:APIsMiddleware
• EDIMicroservices architectures
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum / SAFe).
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage engineering teams and senior stakeholders confidently.
• Desirable skills/knowledge/experience: Experience managing large scale retail or enterprise transformation programs.
• Strong background in program governance, including: Stakeholder management
• Budget planning & cost tracking
• Resource management
• Risk and escalation handling
• Exposure to AI enabled testing, observability, or intelligent automation.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS.Industry certifications such as SAFe, PMP, or Agile certifications.
