Director of Operations

Operations Director – Ireland (Confidential Appointment)We are supporting a well-established, service-led technical engineering business in Ireland to appoint an Operations Director as part of its next stage of growth.

This is a confidential search for a senior operational leader who can help shape and scale the business, strengthen operational structure, and drive performance across service, maintenance, and technical operations.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director, with responsibility for national operations across Dublin and regional teams.

The Role

You will take ownership of service and technical operations across multiple sites, with a strong focus on recurring service and maintenance delivery, operational performance, and customer experience. The role also includes oversight of installation and project delivery performance.

You will be responsible for building operational structure, driving KPI discipline, improving service consistency, and embedding accountability across field and office-based teams

Key Responsibilities

• Lead national service and technical operations (Dublin and regional)
• Improve operational performance, structure, and accountability
• Drive KPI-led management across service and maintenance delivery
• Oversee PPM and reactive maintenance operations
• Improve utilisation, workflow efficiency, and service profitability
• Support escalation management and customer relationships
• Oversee operational aspects of project and installation delivery
• Develop and lead operational managers and field teams
• Strengthen budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes
• Translate operational performance into measurable financial outcomes

About You

You will be an experienced operational leader from a hard services FM, technical services, or engineering services environment, with strong experience managing multi-site, multi-contract operations.

You will bring:

• Proven experience leading field-based operational teams
• Strong KPI and performance management capability
• Commercial awareness with budget or P&L responsibility
• Experience improving service delivery and operational structure
• Strong customer-facing leadership capability
• A hands-on, visible, and accountability-driven leadership style
• Typical backgrounds may include Operations Director, Regional Operations Manager, Service Director, or Head of Technical Services within FM, M&E, or technical service organisations.
