Scadding Court Community Centre is a Toronto downtown west agency that delivers programs and services for seniors, adults, youth, and children, including recreation programs, sports programs, after four programs, services for new Canadians, health services, and more to meet the needs of the local community.
About the role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Financial & Operations Analyst to join our finance team on a maternity leave contract. You'll provide strategic financial advice and business process analysis across all Centre departments, support multi-year budgeting and service planning, and play a key role in our RISE-to-ADP payroll system migration in 2026.
What you will do
Financial Management
- Process accounts payable/receivable, bank deposits, and reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and monitor annual operating budgets, mid-year and year-end variance reports
- Analyze program and agency costs and revenues for operating and capital budgets
- Assist with payroll processing and support the RISE-to-ADP system migration
Reporting & Analysis
- Develop reports, briefing notes, and presentations on financial and operational matters
- Monitor performance against planned results and recommend mitigation strategies
- Support year-end audit processes in liaison with the Auditor, Finance Director, and Executive Director
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to MFIPPA, OHSA, and all applicable financial policies and regulations
- Maintain furniture and equipment inventory for accounting and insurance purposes
- Administer petty cash and various program funds
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build productive working relationships across departments and with City of Toronto staff, auditors, and Finance Committee members
- Provide professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
What you bring
- Diploma or degree in Finance or Accounting
- Strong Excel skills; experience with SAGE 300 or similar accounting software
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Clear communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Cultural sensitivity and experience working in diverse communities
Nice to have
- Minimum 2 years of finance experience in a non-profit setting
- Enrollment in any level of CPA designation
- A second language
