As part of the founding team, you’ll directly shape the architecture, scalability, and backbone of a platform designed to scale across the UK, EU, and beyond.

Gler is powered by Fyaora, a scalable infrastructure engine built to support next-generation service platforms.

The Role

We’re looking for a Back-End Java Engineer to architect and build the core systems that power Gler.

This is not just another backend role — you’ll be designing the engine that handles bookings, payments, availability, and automation at scale.

As a founding engineer, your decisions will define how this system performs under real-world demand.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable back-end services using Java & Spring Boot
• Develop robust APIs to support web and mobile applications
• Architect systems for booking flows, availability logic, payments, and automation
• Work with databases (MySQL) to ensure performance, reliability, and data integrity
• Containerise and deploy services using Docker
• Contribute to infrastructure setup using AWS and Terraform
• Collaborate closely with front-end, product, and UX teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Optimise performance, scalability, and system reliability
• Implement best practices in security, testing, and system design
• Support CI/CD pipeline development and deployment workflows

What You Bring

• Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot)
• Solid understanding of backend architecture and API design
• Experience with:
• Docker
• Maven
• GitHub
• MySQL
• AWS
• Terraform
• 3–5+ years of backend development experience (startup experience a plus)
• Experience building scalable, production-ready systems
• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
• Ownership mentality — you build like it’s yours
