On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Backend Java Developer - Spring Boot for a 5 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

The project involves scaling the Open Banking Core platform to accommodate more use cases and clients. This role focuses on backend development, leveraging Java and Spring Boot to enhance the platform's capabilities and performance.
Backend Java Developer - Spring Boot - Responsibilities
- Providing technical direction with team input and feedback
- Assisting in developing coding standards and testing approaches
- Collaborating with the Architect to realize technical vision and direction
- Providing expert advice and counsel on complex issues related to “area of specialty”
- Providing reviews of solution designs and related code
- Proficient in security scanning and implementing best practices to resolve security issues
- Mentoring and helping team members in technical knowledge and best coding practices
Backend Java Developer - Spring Boot - Mandatory Skills
- 10+ years of work experience with Java & Spring Boot and as a Java Developer
- 7+ years of experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MongoDB
- 7+ years of experience with Redis or caching strategies
- 7+ years of experience deploying and managing containerized applications on GCP using Kubernetes
- 7+ years of experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- 7+ years of experience with REST API design
- Knowledge in Object Oriented and Functional Design
Backend Java Developer - Spring Boot – Nice-to-Have Skills
- 5+ years of work experience as a React.js and Node.js developer
- Experience working on projects that involve Application Security like oAuth2 and/or SSO
- Well-rounded knowledge of Agile principles
- Experience with modern JS toolsets (ES6, Typescript, Babel, Lerna, Jest, Protractor)
