The function is responsible for shaping and implementing the organisation’s data, cloud, and AI strategy. This function drives transformation across the business by enabling data-driven decision-making, ensuring data governance, and fostering a strong data culture throughout the firm.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, efficient data pipelines to collect, process, and manage large volumes of data from multiple sources.
- Partner with data scientists and analysts to deploy and operationalize AI/ML products and advanced analytics solutions.
- Ensure all data platforms and solutions adhere to enterprise data governance, quality, and compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain data-driven applications, APIs, and microservices that support analytics and reporting needs.
- Drive cloud-native solutions leveraging modern tools and technologies (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, EMR, etc.), and implement robust CI/CD and DevOps pipelines.
- Collaborate with business, data, and technology leaders to shape and execute the enterprise data strategy.
- Operate with a strong understanding of risk frameworks, ensuring compliance and operational resilience in all data initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data architecture, or full stack engineering, ideally within financial services or similarly complex, regulated environments.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Java, with experience building ETL pipelines, data models, and microservices.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based architectures and data platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, or EMR.
- Experience in AI/ML Ops, including deployment and monitoring of ML models.
- Hands-on exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible, or similar automation tools.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to challenge current processes and propose data-driven improvements.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline.
