Senior Data Platform Support Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Support Engineer to own, support, and optimize enterprise data platforms that enable critical business operations and analytics. This role will serve as the technical lead for platform administration, application support, system integrations, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong troubleshooting skills, experience managing data platforms in production environments, and a passion for delivering reliable, scalable solutions
Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Ownership
- Serve as the primary technical owner and administrator for enterprise data platforms and related applications
- Configure, maintain, and optimize platform performance, availability, and security
- Develop platform roadmaps and recommend enhancements aligned with business objectives
- Establish and maintain operational standards, governance practices, and support procedures
Support & Incident Management
- Provide advanced support for platform-related issues and service requests
- Diagnose and resolve complex application, integration, and system problems
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions
- Partner with infrastructure teams and vendors to resolve escalated issues
Integration & Automation
- Design, implement, and maintain integrations between enterprise applications and data platforms
- Develop automation solutions using scripting and automation frameworks to improve efficiency and reliability
- Support ETL/ELT processes, data movement, and platform interoperability
Performance, Security & Compliance
- Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity utilization
- Implement security controls, access management, and compliance requirements
- Define and track service metrics, SLAs, and operational KPIs
Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement
- Lead or support projects involving platform upgrades, new functionality, integrations, and automation
- Evaluate new technologies and third-party solutions to improve platform capabilities
- Create and maintain technical documentation and deliver user training as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experiencw
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, data platforms, or data infrastructure in a production environment
- Strong experience with SQL, APIs, data integration technologies, and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GC
- Knowledge of monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and incident management practice
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skill
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering Tableau Server and/or Cloudera environment
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouse technologies, and data governance framework
- AWS, Tableau, Cloudera, or related technical certification
- Experience supporting large-scale analytics or data platform ecosystems
