AI Engineer Dublin, Hybrid12 month contract

About the Role

An innovative and growing analytics team is seeking an AI Engineer t to help identify high-value AI use cases, develop proof-of-concepts, and support the deployment of AI and machine learning solutions into production environments.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of AI implementation, collaborating closely with business stakeholders to understand challenges and design data-driven solutions. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to explore new technologies, experiment with emerging AI approaches, and contribute to projects that drive meaningful business impact.

You will work alongside experienced data professionals within a broader data and analytics function, with access to resources supporting ideation, data engineering, and model development. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical capability with curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a passion for applying AI to real-world business problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning and AI models to solve business challenges
• Explore and evaluate both existing and emerging AI technologies and tools
• Build proof-of-concept solutions and support the transition to production
• Work directly with business users to gather requirements and understand use cases
• Collaborate with data, analytics, and technology teams to access data sources and modelling platforms
• Document development processes, methodologies, and model outputs to required standards
• Contribute to experimentation, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Required Skills & Experience
• Degree in a relevant discipline such as Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong Python programming skills for machine learning and predictive modelling
• Experience developing supervised and/or unsupervised machine learning models
• Exposure to generative AI technologies and applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience

• Experience with agentic AI tools or frameworks
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and data platforms such as Databricks
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Experience working within regulated or highly data-driven industries such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, or financial services
