About The Role
To support AIA’s mission of helping customers live healthier, longer, and better lives, , the AI Solution, Principal, will provide strategic leadership in shaping and accelerating the organisation’s TDA transformation through the design and delivery of scalable, enterprise‑ready AI solutions.
This role is accountable for translating business priorities into robust technology architectures and actionable implementation roadmaps, integrating data, AI models, and digital platforms in alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
The position will define end-to-end AI solution blueprints and produce high-quality
architecture diagrams and solution design artifacts that enable secure, performant, and future-proof implementations. The role will present, review, and secure endorsement from governance bodies, ensuring all AI solutions adhere to enterprise policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
Beyond solution design, the AI Solution, Principal will champion modern engineering practices, establish reusable technology frameworks, and guide cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑impact AI‑enabled products. Through strong stakeholder partnership and technology leadership, this role will strengthen engineering governance and ensure seamless alignment between business priorities and technology execution.
Roles And Responsibilities
Strategic AI Leadership & Innovation
- Drive the evolution of AIA’s AI/ML strategy by identifying and shaping adoption of emerging technologies aligned with business priorities and customer outcomes.
- Define and operationalise enterprise AI roadmaps, embedding scalable and reusable AI capabilities into digital products and services to enhance agency effectiveness and customer experience.
- Lead strategic AI solution design, including prototyping, experimentation, and feasibility assessments, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and long-term scalability.
AI Solution Design, Research & Applied Innovation
- AI Solution Design, Research & Applied Innovation
- Lead the design and development of end-to-end AI solutions, combining advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI to address real-world business challenges.
- Drive applied innovation initiatives, translating cutting-edge AI research into production-ready architectures and scalable implementations.
- Foster a culture of experimentation through rapid prototyping, iterative validation, and continuous learning.
- Convert research outcomes into solution blueprints, architecture artefacts, and actionable insights, influencing product direction and engineering design.
Architecture & Engineering Excellence
- Define and produce solution architecture diagrams a nd design artefacts, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, scalability, and modularity.
- Lead architecture reviews and secure endorsement from governance bodies (e.g., Architecture Review Board, Risk & Compliance).
- Champion engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, secure-by-design principles, and performance optimisation.
- Ensure all AI solutions are resilient, scalable, cost-effective, and maintainable across the enterprise landscape.
Governance, Compliance & Knowledge Management
- Establish and enforce AI solution governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture, data privacy, security, and regulatory standards.
- Lead solution review processes and obtain necessary design approvals from governance authorities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, solution design documents, and reusable patterns.
- Promote knowledge sharing and reuse to enhance organisational efficiency and capability maturity.
Business Communication, Stakeholder Alignment & Change Management
- Act as a strategic bridge between business and technology, translating business vision into AI solution strategies and executable architecture designs.
- Communicate complex AI concepts, solution architectures, and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
Strategic Collaboration & Organisational Influence
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure AI initiatives are aligned with enterprise strategy and business priorities.
- Influence long-term technology direction and drive adoption of AI capabilities across AIA Group.
- Act as a thought leader in AI and digital transformation, shaping innovation agendas and elevating engineering and solution design maturity across the organisation.

- Demonstrates strong ownership of outcomes by proactively identifying risks, driving issue resolution, and ensuring delivery commitments are met with high quality and timeliness.

- Actively invests in self and team development by staying current with AI/ML advancements, mentoring team members, and fostering a growth mindset across the organisation.
Must Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, science, or related fields, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
- Minimum 8 years of solution and architecture design, development
- Proven experience in AI engineering
- Proven experience in at least 1 popular database, preferably Azure SQL, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Vector, MongoDB.
- Experience in cloud platforms, e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Experience in GenAI tech stacks
- Customer focus.
- Good team player.
- Strong communication skills in English, Mandarin, or Cantonese.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge/experience in generative AI such as large language models and image generators is a strong plus.
- Experience in DevOps, ML Ops and LLM Ops.
- Experience in distributed system tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Redis, Kafka, etc.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum software development process.
