Why This Role Exists

Gate is at a pivotal stage of global traffic growth, and SEO is one of our core levers for acquiring high-quality organic traffic while driving down CAC. We're looking for a systems-level SEO strategist to build Gate's SEO engine from zero to one — from technical SEO to content strategy to data infrastructure — transforming SEO from "something we do on the side" into a growth channel with clearly attributable ROI.

What You'll Own

• Define and execute Gate's global SEO strategy across the main site, blog, Learn section, and landing pages — setting priorities and phased milestones across all surfaces.
• Lead technical SEO architecture, partnering closely with engineering to solve site structure, page speed, crawl efficiency, and multilingual hreflang implementation at the foundation layer.
• Build our keyword research and content planning system around crypto, Web3, and trading product themes — driving production of content that captures high-intent search demand.
• Establish SEO measurement and attribution infrastructure, defining the core metrics (organic traffic, keyword rankings, conversion) that turn data into iteration decisions.
• Own off-page SEO and link-building strategy, elevating Gate's search authority and brand visibility across the global crypto landscape.

Who We're Looking For

You have deep intuition for how search engines actually work — not from memorizing rules, but from understanding what Google is trying to do. You're data-driven but not data-paralyzed; you can make sound calls with incomplete information. You're equally comfortable debating robots.txt and rendering strategies with engineers as you are explaining to content teams why a headline has to change.

You have a strong owner mindset — you don't wait for scope to be handed to you; you find the highest-leverage problem and drive it. In fast-moving, resource-constrained environments, you ship and iterate rather than wait for perfect conditions.

Backgrounds We're Open To

• SEO lead or core contributor at a crypto exchange (Binance, OKX, Bybit, etc.)
• SEO / growth lead at a crypto-native media outlet (CoinDesk, The Block, PANews, etc.)
• Core SEO role at a major internet company (ByteDance, Alibaba, Tencent, Meituan, etc.) — international or multilingual SEO experience strongly preferred

A Note From the Hiring Manager

We're not looking for someone who "knows SEO." Tactics can be learned — an instinct for growth and an obsession with systems are much harder to develop. I want someone who sees a page drop in rankings and immediately starts pulling data, diagnosing the cause, and proposing a fix — not someone waiting to be assigned work. There's enormous white space in Gate's SEO waiting to be filled.
