LegalZoom’s Brand & Creative team is seeking a strategic Group Manager, Content Marketing Lead to own, develop, and scale our content strategy across digital surfaces. In this role, you’ll lead a team of content writers, editors, and strategists to create high-quality, brand-aligned content that drives awareness, authority, builds trust, and delivers on business and marketing objectives.
You’ll be responsible for content that is not only compelling and well-crafted, but also deeply strategic—rooted in audience insights, macro trends, and performance data. You’ll collaborate closely with partners in SEO, PR, creative, and social media to build multiformat content that informs, inspires, and influences perception.
This role sits at the intersection of brand storytelling, education, and content operations—and is ideal for a seasoned content marketer who is equal parts strategic thinker, creative storyteller, and operational leader.
You will
Lead and mentor a team of writers and content marketing managers to produce content that’s accessible, credible, accurate, engaging, on-brand, and strategically aligned
Lead the content strategy across webpages, editorial, and page-level messaging hierarchies
Drive the editorial roadmap in collaboration with SEO, PR, partnerships, and social media to develop content strategies based on audience needs, thought leadership, keyword data, and marketing trends
Collaborate with designers, marketing copywriters, content designers, video editors, and creative ops to develop multiformat content experiences
Evolve our content development systems, including the editorial calendar, intake process, feedback workflow, and scalable production models
Establish and maintain content quality standards, voice and tone guidelines, and brand-aligned editorial governance
Foster a collaborative, feedback-rich culture for both the content team and broader Brand & Creative team
Coach ICs on navigating the broader org, presenting work, and developing executive presence
You have
7–10+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial, or SEO-focused content roles—with at least 3 years managing content teams
A strong portfolio of content that demonstrates both performance and brand alignment
Deep knowledge of SEO fundamentals, keyword research, and content optimization tools (Ahrefs, Clearscope, SurferSEO, GSC, etc.)
Familiarity with or curiosity around Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and structured content for AI/voice search (e.g., schema, snippets, entity-based content)
Experience working in-house in a cross-functional content team, ideally within a tech or online services company
A strategic mindset, strong editorial instincts, and a willingness to challenge outdated assumptions
Comfort working in CMS platforms, and content collaboration tools like ClickUp
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a passion for growing people and creating space for diverse voices
LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is $128,300 to $171,000. Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs.
In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package. You will also receive a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits as seen below.
