Principal R&D Scientist OpportunityI am partnered with a high growth, deep tech startup of which are developing advanced quantum and photonic technologies. We are looking for a staff/principal level R&D scientist to join the device development team. You will be focused on the development, optimization and scale of superconducting nano-devices fabrication processes, playing a pivotal role in device performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead R&D initiatives focused on superconducting nanodevices and advanced nanofabrication processes
- Drive process optimisation, scaling, and yield improvement across cleanroom fabrication workflows
- Design and execute experimental validation plans, including cryogenic device testing and characterisation
- Collaborate closely with production, systems engineering, and multidisciplinary R&D teams to support technology transfer and product development
- Analyse experimental and process data to guide device and fabrication improvements
Job requirements
- PhD in Physics, Nanotechnology or something related
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cleanroom nanofabrication and superconducting or nanoscale device development
- Strong expertise in process development, optimisation, and scaling from R&D into production
- Experience with cryogenic systems, device testing, and experimental characterisation
