I am partnered with a high growth, deep tech start-up developing advanced quantum and photonic technologies.
We are looking for a highly experienced Staff System Architect who will be dedicated to the product line, with a strong focus on defining and leading the technical architecture and roadmap for the next generation quantum technology.
What you’ll be doingYou will contribute to advanced technologies support applications within quantum computing, quantum networking and quantum sensing. You will work at the intersection of quantum photonics, cryogenic engineering, electronics and embedded systems.
You will help to build a scalable, reliable and maintainable architectures enabling autonomous 24/7 detector operation.
You will own the end-to-end system architecture of the SNSPD platform, translating product requirements into clear system level designs, specification and architectural decisions.
Key leadership role regarding aligning engineering execution with the overall architectural vision, guiding cross-functional teams through complex integration and design challenges across multiple technical domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall system architecture and technical design of the SNSPD platform.
- Define system-level specifications, interfaces, and integration strategies across hardware and software domains.
- Drive architectural decisions and technical trade-offs related to performance, scalability, reliability, and cost.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure alignment and successful system integration.
- Resolve complex cross-domain technical challenges involving photonics, cryogenics, electronics, and embedded systems.
- Shape and maintain the technology roadmap.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies to support continuous innovation and product evolution.
- Support the development of scalable, industrialized, and rack-mountable system solutions.
Job Requirements
- PhD in physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related discipline7+ years of experience in system architecture or complex systems design.
- Strong expertise in multi-domain systems integration.
- Experience with SNSPDs, cryogenic platforms, or quantum technologies
- Familiarity with quantum computing, networking, or sensing applications.
- Proven technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Nice to Have10+ years of experience in senior technical leadership or architectural roles.
- Experience with SNSPDs, cryogenic platforms, or quantum technologies.
- Experience designing industrialized or rack-mountable systems.
- Familiarity with quantum computing, networking, or sensing applications.
