About the role
We are looking for a dynamic and commercially minded HR Business Partner to support our Product & Technology function in Chiswick, West London. In this role, you will partner closely with leadership to understand business priorities and translate them into impactful people solutions that drive performance and growth. This role goes beyond traditional HR advisory.
You will be an architect of organisational change — partnering with CPOs, CTOs, and Product / Design / Engineering leaders.
This is a rare and high-impact opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner who combines deep people expertise with genuine fluency in how modern product, design, and engineering organisations operate, looking for their next move in a dynamic, global organisation.
Key responsibilities
Internal Employees
- Partner with product and technology leadership to design, evolve, and embed product-led operating models — team topologies, squad/tribe structures, platform and enabling team models.
- Partner with Product & Technology leaders to deliver a business-aligned people strategy and champion the adoption of a product-led culture.
- Advise managers on performance, development, and employee relations
- Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development planning.
- Lead workforce planning and capability assessments, identifying future skill needs in areas such as AI/ML integration, platform engineering, and design operations.
- Drive succession planning and career development to build strong talent pipelines.
- Embed career frameworks into talent reviews, performance cycles, and hiring — creating a connected talent ecosystem.
- Support delivery of core HR programmes (workforce planning, talent acquisition, engagement, L&D, compensation).
- Provide guidance on compensation to attract and retain high-performing talent.
- Coach leaders to build high-performing, inclusive teams and strong organisational culture.
- Use HR data and metrics to improve decision-making and service delivery.
- Continuously enhance HR processes, systems, and programmes.
- Identify and implement training and development initiatives.
- Foster positive employee relations through proactive engagement and early issue resolution.
- Ensure clear and effective employee communication across the organisation.
- Design and maintain discipline-specific career bands and levelling guides for Product Management, UX/Design, and Software Engineering — covering IC tracks (Associate through Principal/Staff) and management tracks.
- Define role families, competency expectations, and progression criteria that are grounded in the realities of product craft, not generic HR templates.
Vendor Management
- Manage vendor-led onboarding programmes to deliver a strong contractor experience and enhance employer brand.
- Establish and maintain high-quality contractor practices aligned with legal requirements and company values.
- Oversee contractor workforce (c.150), ensuring effective reporting, cost control, and alignment with business needs.
- Partner with Finance to manage contractor budgets and support cost-effective workforce decisions.
- Collaborate with senior HR stakeholders globally to deliver the wider HR strategy and contribute to key projects.
By End of Year One
- Refreshed career bands and levelling guides adopted across Product, Design, and Engineering — with visible improvement in clarity and consistency of progression decisions.
- At least one meaningful organisational design change implemented, with measurable improvement in team effectiveness or delivery speed.
- A people analytics baseline in place, enabling data-informed talent conversations with leadership.
- Qualitative feedback from product and engineering leaders that HR is a genuine strategic partner, not a compliance function.
About you
- 7+ years of progressive HR Business Partnering experience, with at least 3 years partnering directly with product, design, or technology functions.Extensive experience as an HRBP - with HR generalist knowledge and supporting an HR function with senior level roles. Experience supporting a product/commercial function is preferred.
- A track record of managing projects in multiple countries, driving change management.
- Proven hands-on capabilities in employee/industrial relations and employment law/practices.
- Cultural agility to manage a diverse workforce and multiple vendors.
- Superb networking skills, ability to co-operate within a demanding and transformational team at all levels.
- Adaptable and comfortable in a dynamic, fast changing, complex, unstructured and flat environment and hierarchy.
- Results driven, with a high passion for people, drive and motivation.
