The Management Accountant at Athena Care Homes plays a key role in supporting the financial performance and continued growth of the business.
Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and reconciliations while supporting month-end processes, cash flow management, and operational decision-making across the care home portfolio.
The role will help ensure strong financial controls, provide valuable commercial insight, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care through effective financial management.
SalaryCirca £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Shift Pattern37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Location:
Central Office, Russel House, Basildon, Essex, SS15 6TF. This role is fully office-based.
Key Duties &
Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role, progressing towards AAT, ACCA, or CIMA qualifications desirable.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using financial and payroll systems; Sage50 experience is advantageous.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Collaborative and adaptable approach, with healthcare or care home sector experience.
