MattersProcurement Operations & Travel plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating the delivery of effective procurement processes and governance across UNSW, ensuring that strategic procurement activities, including travel, align with university policies and strategic objectives, whilst facilitating continuous improvement.
The role of Operations Analyst will support the reporting function related to Strategic Procurement, as well as Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting, ensuring that UNSW procurement activities align with its sustainability and ethical goals.
The Operations Analyst reports to the Procurement Manager, Strategy & Governance and does not have any direct reports.
Contribute to the development of procurement and travel policies and guidance, including timely and accurate responses to internal and external stakeholders.
Act as the primary contact for procurement and travel-related inquiries, effectively addressing and resolving complex procurement and governance queries while ensuring alignment with relevant policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain key templates, intranet and website content, guidance documents and other creative content for the procurement and the travel team, as well as broader university audiences, to support effective communication, training, and operational effectiveness.
Track and report across the procurement and travel function, including on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria within procurement, ensuring alignment with UNSW Procurement Sustainability Framework.
Deliver training and development programs to enhance procurement and travel operations at UNSW, including collaboration with peer universities and industry partners.
Facilitate and drive continuous improvements through analysis and consultation with stakeholders, ensuring operational efficiency.
Collaborate and influence stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and support for procurement and travel initiatives.
Manage the technology and systems (Contract Management system, spend analytics platform and PowerBI dashboarding) used within the procurement and travel teams, ensuring their effective operation and alignment with team needs.

Degree qualification in Business, Commerce, Analytics, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience (typically 2 to 3+ years) in analytics, reporting, business intelligence or a related analytical role.
Strong Power BI skills, including developing, maintaining and enhancing dashboards and reporting solutions.
Experience using ERP systems and business technologies to support reporting and operational processes. Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft is desirable.
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience in procurement, travel, operations, facilities, estate management or a similar operational environment is desirable but not essential.
