Backend Platform Engineer

Barden is delighted to partner with a growing tech company in Cork in their search for a Senior Platform Services / Backend Engineer.

With continued expansion, the company is now investing heavily in AI-powered platform capabilities.

You will work with the Head of Platform Engineering, focused on building the internal services, tools, and frameworks that power the entire engineering organisation; not end-user product features or infrastructure maintenance.

You’ll help shape core platform areas such as:

Auth & IdentityMessaging InfrastructureShared Libraries & SDKsAgentic / AI tooling & workflowsDeveloper Experience toolingDesign system componentsSelect product-enabling platform featuresWhat they’re looking for:

• Strong experience in one or two of the following or similar languages: Python, Node.js, TypeScript, C# --> you must have written production code in the last 6 months
• Prior experience building platforms, services, or internal tools used across multiple engineering teams
• Experience in cloud-native distributed systems with decoupled eventing/messaging communication patterns
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (or Azure Container Apps) in production environments
