Job Description

EXL is building a strategic Business Intelligence capability to help the organization understand how AI and emerging technologies will reshape industries, client demand, and competitive landscapes. We are looking for AVP - level ‘Research Analysts & Visual Aids’ role sits within the Business Intelligence function and is responsible for continuous signal tracking, structured research, and production of high-quality strategic briefs and visual communication assets. This role plays a critical part in transforming raw information from AI developments, industry trends, and market signals into clear, concise, and visually compelling insights that support leadership decision-making. The team acts as the intelligence engine behind strategy and industry consultants, ensuring that insights are grounded in credible research and communicated through executive-ready outputs such as briefs, dashboards, and visual narratives.

Responsibilities for External Candidates

Key Responsibilities

  1. Continuous AI & Industry Signal Monitoring
  • Monitor AI developments, technology trends, and industry disruptions across multiple sectors.

  • Track signals from sources such as research reports, technology announcements, regulatory updates, and market movements.

  • Maintain structured intelligence on emerging trends, competitive moves, and client investment patterns.

  1. Production of Strategic Briefs
  • Produce structured research briefs, insight summaries, and executive memos.

  • Support strategy teams by preparing background intelligence and research inputs for advisory discussions.

  • Create signal interpretation summaries that highlight key implications for business strategy.

  1. Create Visual Aids on Business Insights
  • Transform complex research findings into clear visual formats, including:

  • Executive presentations

  • Insight dashboards

  • Strategic visuals and infographics

  • Ensure insights are communicated in simple, structured, and compelling formats suitable for leadership consumption.

  1. Support Strategic Advisory Work
  • Work closely with Strategy & Industry Consultants to support research and insight generation.

  • Provide research inputs for industry outlooks, thought leadership, and strategic discussions.

  • Help maintain a structured repository of insights, trends, and signals for ongoing intelligence.

Qualifications for External Candidates

  • Overall:

  • 3–8 years of experience in research, intelligence, or consulting knowledge teams

  • Experience in industry research, technology research, or strategic insights

  • Research Capability

  • Strong ability to synthesize large volumes of information into structured insights

  • Familiarity with AI, digital transformation, and industry trends

  • Communication & Visualization

  • Strong capability in visual storytelling and executive presentation development

  • Expert level proficiency with Visual Design Tools, Video making tools, data visualization, and MS Power

  • Ability to connect data points, trends, and signals into meaningful patterns

  • Structured approach to research and analysis
