We’re seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer / Data Analyst to support a leading financial services organization. This role is ideal for someone who has worked within Asset Management, Private Equity, Private Credit, or similar investment environments and understands the nuances of financial data.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in downtown Chicago, with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite).
C2C arrangements and visa sponsorship are not available.
About the Role
In this position, you’ll play a central role in shaping and advancing the company’s data ecosystem. You’ll design and refine data models that power analytics across the business, helping transform complex raw data into structured, accessible insights.
Working alongside data engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders, you’ll help drive smarter decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and support revenue growth through high-quality data solutions.
What You’ll Do
Partner with business and technical teams to evaluate current data structures and define scalable, future-ready architectures
Translate business needs into data solutions by leading conversations around requirements, data flows, and system capabilities
Build, enhance, and validate data models to ensure accuracy, usability, and long-term flexibility
Develop prototypes and analytical tools that allow stakeholders to explore and interact with data
Investigate anomalies in datasets, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes
Identify new data opportunities and collaborate with teams to integrate additional sources
Promote best practices in data modeling and contribute to a more efficient, scalable data environment
Ensure compliance with internal governance standards, including data security and privacy requirements
Maintain clear documentation for data models, processes, and project timelines
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, or a similar role
Background in financial services—specifically asset management, private markets, or investment firms
Strong technical skills in SQL and Python, along with experience using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
Proven ability to communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities
Familiarity with data governance, security standards, and regulatory considerations
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field
