Senior Backend Engineer – Fintech Start-Up (Digital Only Banking)

Our client, a growing startup in the neobank space is adding two Senior Backend Engineers to join the team. You will work directly with the technical founders to architect, build, and ship a financial services platform across international markets. You will set standards and make decisions that will impact the systems WORKING IN A GREENFIELD ARCHITECTURE!
To be successful in this role you need to have experience shipping production fintech software before.

• Core backend engineer powering the mobile and Web frontends via REST API

• Handling integration with banking service providers, payment rails, ledger systems, and Cryptocurrency wallet

• Create engineering standards and technical foundations for a system designed to scale internationally
  Tech Stack

• Python (FastAPI) monolith

• PostgreSQL and Redis on AWS

• Rust and/or Go for performance-critical service breakouts

• REST API serving mobile and Web clients

Skills

• 5+ years building and shipping production backend software in Python, Go, and/or Rust

• Experience at a fintech company such as (e.g. Mercury, Brex, Stripe, Chime, Marqeta, Lithic, or similar)

• Strong fundamentals across the backend: PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS

• Experience in fintech, payments, stablecoins and/or banking infrastructure.

• Track record of shipping at scale in a production environment

• Full-stack capability — ability to flex into frontend when needed

• Comfort working at true startup scale — small team, high ownership, significant ambiguity
