Senior System Engineer (DevOps)

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior System Engineer (Dev

Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain Linux servers and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Amazon ECS) in both cloud-based and on-premises environments, ensuring high availability and scalability.

• Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and Google Cloud Platform using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, primarily Terraform.

• Build, manage, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Git

Hub Actions workflows, including automated testing, container image builds, and deployment to Amazon ECR and ECS.

• Manage web servers, networks, storage, databases, security, and user administration across all environments.

• Monitor system health and application performance using Datadog and other observability tools; configure dashboards, alerts, and automated incident responses to ensure rapid resolution.

• Collaborate closely with software developers to streamline and automate the full software delivery lifecycle from code commit to production deployment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve system performance, operational, and security issues across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

• Implement, patch, and support server and network infrastructure with a focus on security best practices and compliance.

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and architectural improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

• Document operational procedures, infrastructure configurations, runbooks, and workflows.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in system administration, system engineering, or Dev

Ops, preferably with Linux and open-source technologies.

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly ECR, ECS, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, Cloud

Front, and related services. Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a strong plus.

• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management across cloud environments.

• Solid experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Git

Hub Actions workflows.

• Strong knowledge of containerisation technologies including Docker, Amazon ECS, and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) for infrastructure and application performance monitoring.

• Familiarity with the LNMP stack, networking fundamentals, and security best practices.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Dev

Ops Engineer, Terraform Associate, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD, RHCE) are an advantage.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of Chinese is an advantage.

• Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of System Administrator / System Engineer.
