Overview
We are looking for a Dev
Ops Application Engineer with strong, hands‑on AWS experience to join our team. In this role, you will design, manage, and support scalable and reliable AWS Cloud Infrastructure, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and build Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) using tools such as Cloud
Formation or Terraform. You will play a vital role across Business‑As‑Usual operations, projects, and on‑demand tasks in an Agile Dev
Ops environment. The role includes reviewing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across production and non‑production systems within our AWS cloud and data centre environments, ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices and industry standards.
Responsibilities
Manage and prepare for the implementation of projects in the operational/support environments including evaluation, feasibility, technical investigations, pilots, and proof of concepts, training and knowledge transfer to and from other teams.
Day to day provision of second/third line support for technologies that the team owns within agreed SLAs. Build and maintain effective relationships and lines of communication with other Technology Teams, third party suppliers and the Business Streams to facilitate effective delivery.
Organise and manage maintenance activities, including deployments, ad‑hoc work packages, service improvements and patching of servers, to support business peaks following approved instructions.
Be the Application Subject Matter Expert. Produce quality up‑to‑date in‑depth technical documentation, present technical concepts to wider audience at all levels, and conduct knowledge transfer within the team.
Complete a written English test and a practical hands‑on task as part of the selection process.
Qualifications
Essential
Admin or Dev
Ops roles, with on‑premise server administration and support.
Ops & CI/CD: Strong relevant experience with Dev
Ops practices, CI/CD tools such as Azure Dev
Ops, AWS Code
Pipeline, and Jenkins, and Infrastructure‑As‑Code tools (Required: Terraform).
Cloud & Virtualization: Strong knowledge and experience of AWS, troubleshooting cloud environments, and experience with virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper‑V.
Teamwork: Can work with minimal supervision both individually and as a team.
Communication skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Desirable
Working knowledge in Unix and Windows administration.
Working knowledge of Service Management Process.
