About the Opportunity
Cirrus is a services-led enterprise technology partner supporting large-scale transformation initiatives across cloud, automation, and AI-driven operations for Fortune 50 clients.
This role sits within a growing Cloud Automation Monitoring (CAM) function focused on evolving from traditional monitoring into a centralized automation and intelligent operations capability . The team is building solutions that move beyond alerting toward event-driven automation, operational efficiency, and self-healing systems across complex enterprise environments.
This is an opportunity to work on high-impact, real-world automation use cases at scale , spanning cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and emerging AI capabilities.
Role Overview
The Cloud Automation Engineer will focus on building automation-first solutions across cloud and operational environments, with Python as the core development language .
Automation of operational workflows
API-driven orchestration
Integration with monitoring and ITSM systems
Exposure to AI/ML and agent-based automation (where applicable)
Success in this role is defined by the ability to:
Reduce manual operational effort
Improve system reliability through automation
Build scalable, reusable automation frameworks
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop automation workflows for cloud and application operations
Build and maintain Python-based automation frameworks and services
Integrate automation with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog) to enable event-driven execution
Develop APIs and microservices (e.g., FastAPI) to expose automation capabilities
Automate operational tasks such as:
Incident response
Certificate and credential lifecycle
Provisioning and decommissioning
Contribute to self-healing and auto-remediation workflows
Build lightweight web portals or dashboards for operational visibility (as needed)
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and reliability teams to identify automation opportunities
Support debugging, root cause analysis, and performance improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications3+ years of experience in software engineering, automation, or cloud operations
Strong proficiency in Python (primary requirement)
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Power
Shell)
Hands-on experience with API development (REST, FastAPI or similar frameworks)
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code / automation tools :
Terraform
Ansible (or similar)
Experience integrating with monitoring and observability tools
Strong understanding of operational workflows and incident management
Ability to work across Linux and Windows environments
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to AI/ML concepts and frameworks (e.g., Tensor
Flow, Py
Torch, Scikit-learn)
Experience with chatbots, conversational AI, or AI agents
Familiarity with AIOps or intelligent automation use cases
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience building front-end interfaces (React, Angular, or similar)
Exposure to data pipelines, ETL processes, or analytics workflows
Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., Service
Now)
