Senior Solutions Architect - Cloud Platforms

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join their innovative technology team in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, CA . This is a critical role responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, best practices, and emerging technologies across major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to translate requirements into technical designs, ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and architecture of cloud-native solutions, microservices, and distributed systems. Develop comprehensive technical strategies and roadmaps for cloud adoption and migration. Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies to meet project and business needs. Create detailed architectural diagrams, documentation, and proof-of-concepts. Collaborate with development teams to guide the implementation of architectural designs. Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities. Ensure solutions adhere to security best practices, compliance requirements, and industry standards. Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence. Stay current with advancements in cloud computing, containerization, CI/CD, and related technologies. Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in software architecture or solution design, with a strong focus on cloud platforms. Expert-level knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their services. Proven experience designing and deploying highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloud

Formation). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans. Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies. Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
