About the Role
We're looking for experienced Architects for upcoming senior technical roles spanning Data Architect, Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, Technical Architect and Cloud Architect specialisms. These will be hands-on, strategically-positioned roles where you'll set technical direction across complex systems, make the architectural decisions that matter and translate business intent into deliverable technical foundations.
You'll work at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution—shaping how organisations design, integrate and evolve their systems. The role suits someone who combines deep technical authority with the breadth to span multiple specialisms, the pragmatism to make trade-offs under constraint, and the communication skills to bring engineering and business stakeholders along.
Key Responsibilities
Define and own architectural direction for systems, platforms and integrations across the technology estate
Translate business strategy and capability gaps into target architectures, roadmaps and design decisions
Set and document architectural standards, patterns and principles—and ensure they're applied consistently
Lead the design of complex cross-system solutions, balancing scalability, cost, security, performance and pace of delivery
Partner with engineering teams to guide implementation, review designs and unblock technical decisions
Govern integration patterns, data flows and system boundaries between internal platforms and third-party services
Evaluate emerging technologies, cloud services and vendor solutions; make recommendations grounded in trade-off analysis
Shape data models, schemas and information architecture that scale with business needs
Support engineering managers and senior engineers on technical strategy without owning their line management
Represent architecture in senior forums—technical steering groups, executive briefings and external partnerships
What You'll Bring
Architectural Authority:
Deep hands-on engineering background before moving into architecture (Senior Engineer / Lead Engineer / Principal level or equivalent)
Track record of designing and delivering complex systems end-to-end—not just whiteboard work
Strong opinions, weakly held; able to defend architectural choices with reasoning and evidence
Comfortable making decisions under ambiguity, with incomplete information and competing priorities
Experience documenting architectural decisions (ADRs, target-state diagrams, capability maps) at quality
Technical Breadth:
Strong grounding in modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)—at least one in serious depth
Familiarity with data architecture: warehouses, lakes, lakehouses, streaming, modelling, governance
Working understanding of integration patterns (APIs, events, messaging, ETL/ELT, i
PaaS)
Awareness of security, identity, observability and resilience as architectural concerns
Polyglot exposure across modern stacks; able to assess and challenge implementations across languages and frameworks
Communication & Stakeholder Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to adapt for engineers, executives and non-technical partners
Confidence influencing without authority; building consensus across teams that don't report to you
Pragmatic mindset; able to balance architectural purity with delivery reality
Comfortable challenging product, engineering and business stakeholders constructively
Experience Level:
Minimum 7+ years for Solution / Technical Architect, 10+ for Data / Cloud Architect, 12+ for Enterprise Architect
Background in software engineering, data engineering, platform engineering or related technical discipline
Examples of architectures designed, systems delivered or technical strategies shaped end-to-end
What We Offer
The opportunity to shape technical direction at organisations where the systems genuinely matter
A senior IC track—architectural influence without the line management overhead
Scope to span specialisms rather than be boxed into one domain
Engineering peers strong enough to push back and raise the bar
Flexible working arrangements (on-site, hybrid or remote) and supportive team culture
