Maxwell Bond
đ Automation Engineer (Python / Appium) â Manchester (Hybrid)
đˇ ÂŁ40,000 â ÂŁ50,000 | 2 days onsite
This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering team thatâs building out serious capability in mobile test automation - theyâre now looking for an Automation Engineer to join them as the platform scales.
This isnât just a âwrite some testsâ role. Youâll be helping shape how automation is done across real mobile devices and device farms, working across both iOS and Android apps using Python and Appium.
The team is expanding quickly, with increasing investment in mobile testing infrastructure, meaning youâll be joining at a genuinely interesting point - where automation is becoming a core engineering function rather than a support activity.
Youâll work closely with engineers, QA, and product teams to design and maintain automation frameworks that actually scale. Expect a mix of hands-on scripting, framework development, and solving real-world device and mobile testing challenges.
What theyâre looking for:
Strong Python automation experience, plus hands-on Appium exposure. Experience with mobile testing or device-based environments is important, and any exposure to device farms (AWS Device Farm, Browser
Stack, etc.) is a strong plus. More than anything, they want someone who enjoys building robust automation - not just executing test cases.
Why itâs worth a look:
Real ownership over automation frameworks and approach
Rapidly scaling device & mobile testing environment
Collaborative, engineering-led culture
Strong work/life balance â flexible start/finish times
Opportunity to influence a growing automation capability from the ground up
đĄ Salary: ÂŁ40kâÂŁ50k depending on experience
đ Must be commutable to Manchester (no sponsorship available)
