Sr. QA Tester

Sr. QA Tester – 100% Remote

We're looking for a senior-level QA professional to enhance our manual testing processes while helping us explore and implement AI-assisted QA automation. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in manual QA within e-commerce environments and a genuine interest in shaping practical, AI-driven QA strategies in a collaborative team setting.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll split your time between hands-on manual testing alongside the QA team and strategic work on AI QA implementation. On the testing side, you'll perform regression, UAT, and exploratory testing across our retail and e-commerce web platforms. Beyond the day-to-day testing, you'll partner with the QA Manager on developing our AI QA strategy, evaluate and help select appropriate AI QA vendors and tools, and identify which scenarios are best suited for automation versus remaining as manual tests.

You'll support the initial setup and pilot execution of AI QA tools, create documentation and best practices as we implement these new processes, and train team members on how to use the new tools effectively. Knowledge transfer is critical in this role—you'll ensure that by the end of your engagement, the team has everything they need to maintain and evolve the QA processes independently.

Your recommendations will also improve the consistency and quality of our manual testing processes, bringing rigor and standardization to how we approach quality assurance.

Experience and Skills We're Looking For

You'll need at least 7+ years of experience in senior-level QA and manual testing for web-based applications. Strong hands-on manual testing experience in retail and e-commerce web platforms is essential—we're talking about platforms like Shopify, Magento, and custom web applications where you've executed regression, UAT, and exploratory testing.

You should have proven expertise with test design and test management tools such as Test. Rail, Zephyr, or Jira. We also need someone who has demonstrated experience introducing QA tools and process improvements within existing manual QA teams using tools like Jira, Confluence, or Azure Dev. Ops.

Hands-on experience evaluating and piloting AI-assisted QA tools is a must—whether that's Testim, Mabl, QA Wolf, Autify, Functionalize, or even Chat. GPT. You should be comfortable defining an automation versus manual testing strategy and supporting the setup and pilot execution of AI QA tools.

Mentoring QA team members is part of the role, so you'll need experience delivering structured documentation, SOPs, and knowledge transfer. Your English communication skills need to be strong, with the ability to clearly articulate technical decisions.

Nice to Have

Retail or e-commerce domain experience covering checkout flows, payment gateways, and promotions engines is valuable. Exposure to automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright rounds out your technical toolkit. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using Jira or Azure Dev. Ops Boards is helpful, as is familiarity with API and integration testing tools like Postman or JMeter.

If you've conducted QA vendor comparisons, RFP evaluations, or technical assessments before, that's a plus. Experience contributing to AI QA strategy roadmap planning and working in EST time zones with distributed or global teams would be valuable. We'd also appreciate candidates who have worked in defined-term contract roles requiring rapid onboarding and transition.

Work Schedule and Engagement

This is a full-time role with a short-term engagement structure and potential extension based on performance. The work schedule is 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM Philippine Time. The position is 100% remote.
