Role description
The Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure to ensure the stable and efficient operation of data networks and services. This role involves deploying, operating, optimizing, and supporting network technologies across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments. The individual will collaborate closely with a highly skilled and dynamic team of Network Administrators.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, install, and deploy network architecture across Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
Configure and manage network hardware, as well as third-party and cloud-based connectivity solutions.
Troubleshoot complex network performance issues, including detailed analysis of packet captures and system logs.
Collaborate with network solution providers to design and implement enterprise network topology, routing strategies, and service levels.
Develop and maintain runbooks for network operations to ensure consistent and efficient incident response.
Adhere to Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes.
Perform network capacity planning and ensure infrastructure scalability to meet current and future demands, including disaster recovery preparedness.
Support project teams by providing network architecture and solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Coordinate enterprise-wide installation and configuration of network hardware and software.
Research, evaluate, and recommend network products, services, and standards aligned with organizational goals.
Manage the lifecycle of network hardware, including upgrades, patching, and refresh initiatives.
Implement and manage network security solutions such as firewalls, antivirus systems, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Plan, design, and deploy Wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions.
Engage with vendors and service providers for procurement and service delivery.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in network administration and engineering.
Strong expertise in:
Palo Alto Firewalls
Cisco Catalyst & Nexus switches
Cisco Unified Wireless solutions (ISE, Prime Infrastructure)
F5 BIG-IP (multiple modules/products)
Public Cloud platforms (Azure and AWS)
Microsoft and Linux operating systems
Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Ansible, Nornir, Python, Terraform, or Go.
Prior experience managing data centers or working with data center service providers.
Familiarity with monitoring and network management tools is a plus (Logic
Monitor, Net
Scout, Net
Box, Temporal).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to support occasional off-hours work, weekend activities, travel, and participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
