Our client, a rapidly expanding telecommunications provider, is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their dedicated team in Halifax, Nova Scotia, CA. This is a critical role responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our robust network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance for our valued customers. You will play a pivotal role in architecting scalable and resilient network solutions that support the evolving demands of the telecommunications landscape. Key responsibilities include leading complex network projects from conception through to deployment, troubleshooting advanced network issues, and performing root cause analysis for service disruptions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), and load balancing solutions. Experience with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and network virtualization technologies is highly advantageous. You will be instrumental in capacity planning, network security enhancement, and the implementation of network monitoring tools to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including systems administrators, security analysts, and operations personnel, will be essential to ensure seamless integration and overall system reliability. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in network engineering. Industry certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent are highly preferred. Demonstrated experience with large-scale enterprise or service provider networks is required.
