Senior Network Security Engineer

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia, CA. This role is critical for safeguarding the organization's network infrastructure and data assets against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and endpoint security. This position requires a deep understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and common attack vectors.

Key responsibilities include conducting security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify weaknesses in the network. You will develop and enforce security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in configuring and managing security devices from leading vendors. Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems for monitoring and incident response is essential. You will play a key role in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security breaches.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCNA Security, or GIAC. A minimum of five years of experience in network security engineering is required.
