Role Overview
In this role, you will act as an Onsite IT Engineer, responsible for managing, assisting, and delivering support across client IT environments and helpdesk services.
The role is split between onsite/office-based work in Salford and working from home on certain days. This arrangement may change with reasonable notice depending on operational requirements and business needs.
All support requests must be accurately logged and managed through a web-based ticketing system, ensuring all activity is tracked, updated, and resolved in line with service standards.
You will be responsible for maintaining IT and AV systems, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and users receive a high standard of support.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain client IT environments
Provide first-line technical support for a broad range of IT and AV systems onsite
Respond to IT support requests in a timely manner
Log, update, and manage all tickets using a web-based ticketing system
Escalate complex issues to second-line support or vendors where required
Maintain detailed logs, updates, and time tracking for all work completed
Support hardware and software installations and configurations
Assist with IT infrastructure management and ongoing maintenance
Manage onsite stock levels at client locations, ensuring accuracy and availability
Liaise with the office team to coordinate stock movement, replenishment, and inventory control
Maintain accurate records of stock usage and movement between site and office
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues
Provide onsite (office-based) technical support to end users
Candidate Profile
This role would suit a tech-savvy IT Technician with a strong interest in AV and IT, and a natural problem-solving mindset.
You should have experience working in customer-facing IT support roles and be confident handling a mix of hardware, software, and onsite technical issues. A strong “can do” attitude is essential, along with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to resolution.
Essential Experience
Proven experience as an IT Technician with strong customer service skills
Experience providing face-to-face onsite IT support
Must be confident using a web-based ticketing system for logging and managing all support requests
Good knowledge of IT systems and applications
Some understanding of IT infrastructure
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve IT and AV issues effectively
Positive, proactive “can do” attitude
