Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer‑focused Trading Floor Desktop Support Engineer to support a front‑office trading environment. You will work directly with traders, quants, and analysts to ensure desktop, application, market‑data, and connectivity issues are resolved rapidly with minimal impact to trading activity.
Strong experience troubleshooting Excel‑based pricing tools, automated spreadsheets, and macro‑driven workflows is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Provide L1/L2 desktop and application support to traders and front‑office users
Troubleshoot issues related to Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, hardware, and network connectivity
Support and maintain trading turrets, dealer boards, and voice trading systems
Rapidly troubleshoot Excel pricing tools, including broken formulas, incorrect references, macro‑driven behaviour, and data‑link issues
Assist with market‑data Excel add‑ins (Bloomberg API, ICE, CME)
Log, track, and manage incidents and service requests, escalating where appropriate
Perform desktop builds, upgrades, and deployments using enterprise tooling
Support trading floor technology changes, device rollouts, and hardware refresh initiatives
Work closely with infrastructure, network, application support, and engineering teams
Participate in shift patterns or on‑call rotations aligned with trading support requirements
Create and maintain clear knowledge‑base documentation
Required Skills & Experience
2–5+ years’ experience in desktop or trading‑floor support
Strong understanding of Windows OS, Active Directory, Microsoft 365
Strong Excel troubleshooting capability, including formula tracing, named ranges, and dependency analysis
Ability to communicate effectively with front‑office stakeholders
Experience in financial services or other high‑pressure environments
Basic understanding of ITIL service management processes
Desirable Skills
Strong experience supporting Excel macros and automated spreadsheets (operational support and troubleshooting only; no VBA development required)
Familiarity with Excel‑based pricing or trading tools
Basic SQL query building
Trading turret / voice systems (e.g. Cloud9)
SCCM / Intune
Power
Shell scripting
Basic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
Exposure to equities, FX, fixed income, or derivatives workflows
ITIL Foundation certification
